MO PRO- Tour de Grove Day 2

The racing was fast and furious once again with about 10 wrecks in turn one and turn two in the Cat 2-3 race and that’s no joke. As for me I was feeling fairly good for coming off such a hard race yesterday and felt like I had few good attacks in me, that is until I slammed a pot hole and lostKyle and Connor my water bottle early in the race chasing Lee Baumgartner.

That little dilemma would cost me late in the race, but all in all I was settling in pretty good. Once again Lee Baumgartner put in some nice digs and was clearly the man to beat, but I never could find myself in a good position to jump when he would go.

One good note today; I was totally stoked to get to race with my soon to be new teammates Kyle and Brandon along with my good friend and super talented teammate Kenny which I was thinking would make for a pretty good showing for us. Unfortunately, both Brandon and Kyle went down in two separate accidents so there was a little carnage along the way.

In the end, Lee hit the gas while I was back in the pack suffering from a lack of water and Michael Smith along with Cameron Rex saw it and  jumped into the winning move.

As a side note; I was super stoked to see my little cousin John Delaney do his first ever bike race. John is 5 years old and full of energy. Way to go John!!!!

Lastly, I want to give a shout out to Austin Gomes. Austin is an up and coming junior who recently suffered from a stage 3 concussion about a week ago, but that didn’t slow him down one bit. Austin took 2nd in the junior race today; way to go buddy!

That’s pretty much it for now.  I will probably get into it a little more this week, but wanted to get everyone a quick post. John is the one on the green bike on the left.
