I started off my day with some lawn chores. Yah, I know that doesn’t sound real exciting and you know what…it wasn’t!
As I was picking up my dogs poop I noticed something grey on ground. Once I got close enough I could see that it was a little baby bird, it had fallen from its nest right above it.
So I called my Dad over before he started the mower and he finagled the bird with some tongs and a plastic container top back onto the nest. He managed not to touch the bird with his hands just in case that whole thing about touching baby birds causes the mother to ignore it thing is actually true.
Once we were done with that mess I headed out with my Dad for the first part of my ride. While we were riding my Dad noticed that his front derailleur was a bit off so we both agreed to ride down to the shop.
After we arrived I noticed that the shop got a brand new Cannondale Supersix Evo with electric shifters, so David put it up so I could play with the shifters and I have to say it was amazing.
It has this new thing that when your in your big ring and you shift all the way up your cassette it moves the front derailleur so that it is not cross chained. That is just awesome in my opinion.
After we were done with the ride I stopped by to eat some lunch and refill my water bottles. Then I was off for round two where I notice that there was a bit of a cold front that moved in and made my ride a bit unpleasant. After a quick jonty around the lake I was headed back home for the rest of the evening.
Oh I did hear that Kents circuit race around the lake was a big hit, unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to race it with my selection camp coming up. There’s always next time!
So for the rest of my evening I ate dinner and watched a movie with my parents. Then played my Dad in some FIFA.
