One of the highlights of my trip believe it or not is seeing the border patrol along with the Black-hawk helicopters buzzing us as they cruise the border for illegals.
You see, we are just 7 miles from the border. To give you an even better idea of the proximity of Mexico, the Tijuana Jail is just on the other side of the BMX course.
No kidding, the course actually backs up to the prison.
Ok, today was pretty cool on top of that since we got to go scout the Crit course, yes they have their own Crit course on the Olympic grounds. Pretty cool, huh?
I am going to try and get a picture or maybe even a video of it tomorrow if I can.
The course is pretty amazing. It has a cool cork screw in it, a tunnel and some risers to content with, so I am definitely looking forward to racing it tomorrow for sure.
We also had a Short Time Trial test earlier today, but I haven’t gotten my time yet. We have meetings in about a half hour so I am pretty sure we will get the results then. I think I did ok for no warm up and no openers, but we were all in the same boat so it should be fairly close.
I will say the talent here is awesome. Almost every rider is on some big development team and all have the racing resumes that any director would die for, so you can bet the racing will be fast and super aggressive, which is just the way I like it.
Well, that’s about it for today, I hope everyone enjoys the picks and Ill be sure to give a fuller description of the day to day process when I get back.
